This project proposes an ‘awkward’ urban hybrid; housing and bus terminal – habitation and logistics. Due to the current bus circulation which arrives and departs in three different directions, the site itself has become a traffic “island” of the city. This project suggests a “peninsula” instead, as a means to rearrange/simplify the bus route and connect the site to the Piazza Matteotti and city center. As a result, the vehicles circulate in a V- shape, forming the peninsula, and the inhabitants dwell on the upper levels which are in a rounded triangular shape. A beautiful palm tree garden placed in the middle becomes a passenger waiting area and an inner courtyard for the inhabitants at the same time.
