The Egyptian pyramid is one of the most stable and simple structures in architecture history. In the negative pyramid, while still retaining the simplicity and stability, the presence of the solid mass is eliminated and only the space remains. The slanted surfaces themselves become floors, walls and roof, as they are extended further and create space underneath. Two different types of pools are created; one allowing the visitor to swim continuously in an endless linear loop, the other giving a sense of spatial infinity and existential solitude.
